Nehru Place : The hub

1. Not so long back I adverted about the “Software Lelooooooooo” thing in Nehru Place,Delhi vide http://anupriti.blogspot.com/2009/01/software-leloooosoftware-leloooooout-3.htmlNehru Place is the hub, the google, the god ,the solution for any computer hardware software freak where every thing related to hardware/software is available at ease at dirt cheap prices.
2. Today morning I got an opportunity window of 3 hours to be in Nehru Place exploring the shops selling these computer accessories. Any time I have been to Nehru Place earlier ,I have always found something new. Few things that evoked my interest this time are as follows:

a. USB to Lan Socket(with driver CD)[means NIC card is over???]
b. USB to Audio Video.[means Sound Card is over???]
c. SVGA to Audio Video(without power)
d. USB to blue tooth(…I had seen this one earlier)
e. USB vacuum cleaner(enough to handle dust in mother board)
f. USB to table lamp with stand.
g. USB cooler fans in various designs
h. Windows 7 software(they install if u have laptop along with drivers from net available on WiF hotspot!!!!!!!!!!!)………..truly amazing……….Bill…r u listening? Pics of such sellers In-Set.

3. Plebeian Point about all these items mentioned is that these all are Chinese items, all are available in a bracket of Rs 100-200 and most importantly no no no Guarantee or Warranty from the moment you leave the shop .If u can, test at the shop.

4. Last time I did not mention about the ink filling procedure being practiced with loads of success for the sellers at least. As shown in the picture in set. That setup is enough for one to get an ink refilled in the cartridge for Rs 50/-(fifty only) with the help of disposed syringes that they arrange from the local medical clinics… …..shocking or surprised? In fact to stop this ,HP and Canon like companies who deal with printers should start reporting matter to the concerned IT departments to ban and stop this.

5. I m putting up a scanned copy of visiting card of one of these software sellers, not meant to motivate you to buy from him,but to show you how piracy has made professionals in this field. Why is the IT act 2001 in a state of quiescency here???

    Dear Anupam,
This is for your general knowledge that ink filling or refilling is not illegal. There is nothing illegal in it, what's illegal in it is when you get you cartridge re-inked/re-filled and you sell it as brand new in original packing of OEM companies in the name of companies like HP and Canon.

Once you buy a product it becomes your property you use it/abuse it/re use it/break it/ make it/ repair it/ sell it or destroy it, it's your decision to do whatever you want to do with it, it's your property, manufacturing company has nothing to do with the product they sold.

HP, Canon and other concerned IT Departments can report only if someone is selling used/ re-inked/ re-filled cartridges as Brand New or Original Cartridges on their names.

As re-inked or re-filled cartridges are not refilled by these OEM's, bad quality output results can damage a brand/OEM's reputation and that the only legality in this process, I hope this will clear your doubt about legality part and refilling of cartridge is not illegal.

What is illegal in refilling cartridge is that you get your cartridge refill and sell it as brand new, that's illegal.

One more thing, a person re-inking cartridge for Rupees 50/- (Fifty rs. only) is better than doing something illegal like theft or begging, atleast he is earning for him and his family by sitting a side of the road, trust me it's very hard/annoying and frustrating for a person to work in tough conditions like dealing with police and mcd as they don't get permission to work in area like you mention in your pics.

By the way a person like him mentioned in your pic pay around 2600 to 3300 Rupees everyday as rent (bribe for police and mcd department is included).

A ink cartridge he re-ink/re-fill costs him Rupees Rupees 19 to Rupees 22 (means his cost on making a product ready) and he earns only Rupees 31 to Rupees 28 as his labour after deducting the cost of ink.

    Is it illegal?

How does a person like him work and challenges he tackles everyday you can't even imagine?

  8. Printer cartridge refilling in laxmi nagar, Delhi Printer ink is a standout amongst the most costly things that you'll keep running into when you set up your home office. You begin bringing many pictures with your new advanced camera, download them onto your PC, print a couple and afterward all of a sudden: the print cartridge comes up short on ink.
